BCiS Members at Phillustration V

The opening reception for Phillustration V at the Philadelphia Sketch Club was full of great artwork and plenty of shop talk for the dozens of artists and fans that attended. Pictured here are David Schleinkofer, Jim Bennett, Cassandre Maxwell, Ponder Goembel, Glenn Zimmer, Pat Achilles, Monika Hinterwaldner, Pam Hamilton, Jamie Pogue, Christina Maniet and Joe DeVito. Many many thanks to Glenn for transporting much of the art, and to Rich Harrington for a herculean effort in coordinating the show!

Jim took home the First Place Award in the Book Category for his oil of “Broadway Joe” and an Honorable mention in Editorial; Joe’s oil painting “Secret Oceans” won an Honorable mention in the Book caetgory; Cassandre received an Honorable Mention in Book for her cut paper “But She Could Not Sing;” Pat received an Honorable Mention in Institutional illustration for her logo for St. Paul’s Music series; Jamie won an Honorable Mention in Self-Promotional for his oil “Cape May Cuties;” and David was awarded First Place in Self-Promotional illustration for his oil “Happy Hour in Maine.”

Also drawing a lot of favorable comments at the opening were illustrations by Ponder, John Huber, Glenn, Deb Hoeffner and Christina.
