‘Fantasy Tales’ Opening a Fantastic Hit
Members of the Bucks County Illustrators Society were thrilled with the opening night of their Fantasy Tales exhibit at the beautiful Scatter Joy Center for the Arts in Horsham. The opening drew many artists and writers alike as well of friends of the exhibitors, all enjoying the wide variety of illustrations on display in this renovated colonial-era Pennsylvania stone farmhouse, which has been converted into a welcoming art gallery.

BCiS has special thanks to send out during this exhibit:
First to Bill Lessa, Linda Ruzzi, Nancy Pickwell and Jan Weller of the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts (founded by artist Kathy Davis) for helping to design our exhibit, hang it and host a truly lovely opening reception. The Scatter Joy Center hosts many art classes, workshops and events all for the benefit of the community – children and adults alike – and we highly recommend them for art enthusiasts.
Second, to Margaret Matheson and the staff of Phoenix Art Supplies and Framing in Warrington, who are truly wonderful friends of the arts, with their incredible variety of art supplies, friendly staff and expert matting and framing done right in the store. Many of us in BCiS owe them big time for helping us out in a pinch!
And last but certainly not least, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the country’s oldest and most venerable club for artists. BCiS enjoys a strong friendship with the Sketch Club, and its historic home on Camac Street in Philadelphia has hosted some of the most famous American painters and illustrators. Their members continue to provide our area with art classes and exhibits that expand Philadelphia’s cultural horizons.

Had a GREAT time at the show. Such a beautiful page. Deb’s painting of that fawn is exquisite!
