Illustrator Glenn Zimmer’s Work featured at Scatter Joy Center

BCIS member Glenn Zimmer’s illustrations will be the featured exhibit in the gallery of Kathy Davis Studios’ Scatter Joy Center from August 28th to September 21.  The opening reception is Friday, August 28 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm, and Glenn will be there to welcome everyone; the reception is open to the public.  The Scatter Joy Center is the charming stone building next to Kathy Davis Studios, at 305 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044.

Glenn began his career in the creative arts lying on the carpet in his parents’ living room creating his own comic books, using a coveted box of 72 Crayolas while watching Danny Thomas and the antics of Dick Van Dyke as Rob Petrie. After many years of television viewing and graduation from art school he gave up his dream of being a comic book artist in lieu of making real money as a graphic designer and eventually art director.

His career as art director, catalog designer, editorial designer, pre press manager and psychologist to the creative stars was peppered with opportunities to create humorous illustrations for clients such as The Wall Street Journal, Major League Baseball and Merck Pharmaceuticals. And now, he enjoys life lying on his living room floor, creating illustrations for children using his vast array of colored pencils while delighting in the humorous antics on HGTV.

The Scatter Joy Center for the Arts is on the northwest corner of Dresher and Horsham Roads in Horsham, PA. The street address is 305 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044. The art center is in a shopping plaza called the “Elements,” directly across Horsham Road from the Giant Food Market.  The Center is located in an old farmhouse within the Elements  between the building that houses the Starbucks and another building that houses the Subway sandwich shop.  There is signage in front of the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts.
